Duration
The duration for any password set either on the system or server stays for 90 days.
(For example: If a password is set on 1/1/22 the password stays active till 03/31/22)
Please take note that it can be changed anytime before 90 days, you will also get a notification (taskbar pop-up once you logged in to the server) regarding this 15 days prior to your due date.
Complexity
The password contains characters from three of the following categories:
Uppercase letters of (A through Z, with diacritic marks, Greek and Cyrillic characters).
Lowercase letters (a through z, sharp-s, with diacritic marks, Greek and Cyrillic characters).
Base 10 digits (0 through 9).
Non-alphanumeric characters (special characters): (~!@#$%^&*_-+=`|\(){}[]:;"'<>,.?/) .

Points to Remember
- Newly created users will have VPN access.
- Newly created users will have RDP access to the Web Server. Will be placed in the local admin group of the server so that users can set up Znode and work on maintenance tasks.
- As VPN uses SSO (single sign-on), the username and password will be the same for Windows login and VPN login.
- Passwords will expire every 90 days, the users need to reset their password within 90 days.
- A popup notification is set up, this pop-up is only visible if the user logged in to any of the servers with RDP.
- Users will get a pop-up notification 15 days before the password expires.
- Users will be locked out If any user has not logged into any of the servers via RDP within 90 days.
- The account can be locked out for the below reasons too :
- Account lockout threshold "3 Invalid login attempts"
- Account lockout duration "5 Minutes"
How to change your password
- Log in to your computer. Once the desktop is visible, press and hold the CTRL + ALT + Delete keys on your keyboard.
- If you are connected to a Remote Session using Remote Desktop, press and hold the CTRL + ALT + End keys. A window will appear similar to this:
- Select ‘Change a password.
- The following screen will appear. Enter your previous password, and create and confirm a new password. Remember, password length is more important than complexity but try to have both.
- Ensure your password is a minimum of 8 characters, a minimum of 16 characters is preferred. Try to use a memorable phrase or string of random words with special characters throughout. Pick a strong password or generate a password using your Password Manager.
- Hit enter once you’ve typed your new password in the ‘Confirm password’ box.
- If your password change is successful, you will be presented with the following screen (or similar). Otherwise, you will need to create a more sophisticated password.
