Introduction

In Amla Azure Infrastructure, standards designed by Amla Commerce, is to give an idea of How Production and Non-Production VM are Configured and their respective Specification.

Non-Production VM Setup

32 GB Ram recommended for both Webserver and DB server

In Production Boxes , for IIS (Web Page Physical Path) and other dependencies installation

should be carried out in different disk other than OS Disk (C: Drive)

Point to be considered in Production Server

1. In Non-Production Server , Single C Drive is given (OS-Disk)
2. IIS will get configured in the C drive itself .
3. Other Product Dependencies Software should be installed in C Drive(Example:

MongoDB , Elasticsearch, etc)

In Production Server (VM), the Disk Drive is provided in the below-given Standards.

OS Disk : 127 GB Premium SSD

Additional Data Disk: NA

Temporary Disk: Temp 64 GB Disk is provided by Azure(Add-on).

Note: In Non-production Server(VM), the Temporary Disk is a free add-on provided

by Azure, which is a Temporary Volatile Disk, which will not retain Data. It can be used

to store temporary Data. Use C drive to set up and configure all required

applications.

 

For the Reference, Below is the Screen-Shot of the Drive in the Non-Production Server.

The Drive Highlighted in red is a Temporary Drive.

Production VM Setup (IIS) 

The recommended Production Server specs are 64 GB at a minimum for both Webserver and DB server. Production environments can vary and we would be glad to talk together through our support and account management channels to determine the most suitable Production environment specs.

In Production Boxes, for IIS (Web Page Physical Path) and other dependencies installation should be carried out in different disk other than OS Disk (C: Drive) 

Point to be considered in Production Server 

1. In Production Server, Two Drive are given OS Disk (C Drive ) and Additional Fixed Data Disk 
2. IIS should be configured in an Additional fixed Drive (Drive other than OS Disk) 
3. Other Product Dependencies Software should be installed in an Additional fixed Drive(For example MongoDB, Elasticsearch, etc).

In Production Server (VM), the Disk Drive is provided in the below-given Standards 

OS Disk : 127 GB Premium SSD 

Additional Data Disk: 256 GB Standard SSD

 

Note: In the production Server(VM), the additional Disk added is a permanent Disk, that can be used to store Programs and other Data. For Reference, Below is the Screen-Shot of the Drive in the Production Server.

   1. 16+ GB RAM Min, 32Gb + recommended

   2. Modern Quad Core CPU or better recommended

2. Dev Environment Server

   1. 32+ GB RAM recommended

   2. Modern Quad Core CPU or better recommended

      1. Dual Core CPU is workable

3. QA/UAT/Production Server
   1. Depends on traffic, catalog size, store size, and other factors
